And where to begin?

I was going to write this really great blog post about my Sunday; how I laid out by the pool, went to my first Asian mall and saw Kenny Loggins in VIP. But so much has changed since then. So, I thought it would be better – and more interesting – if I just cut to the chase.

I moved.

I moved into the townhouse I was originally placed in because the other housing wasn’t a great fit due to the dog. I’ll be living with 3 other interns this summer. One is already here, another arrives tonight, and the third arrives in a few weeks. I’ll also have more regular access to internet, a different pool, a gym, and my own washer and dryer.

I started my internship.

I work in a great office and will be working on some really interesting stuff this summer. This internship will definitely help me figure out where I fit best with the government, if I decide to pursue this further.

Everyone is incredibly nice, interesting, and speaks English .

The drivers, my coworkers, the staff.

Air conditioning is used excessively.

Who would have thought I’d spend my time in Manila shivering in the office and sweating outside.

Also notable: My jet lag is wearing off!

  1. Your A/C at work sounds like mine: I freeze all day and sweat my tail off on the ride home! I can't believed you moved because of a dog. Actually, yes I can. I'm so glad the flight went well and you're getting settled in.
